Secrets Of The Mountain Family Secrets Are Revealed

Per the Wall Street Journal, it turns out "Secrets" -- originally touted as a backdoor pilot -- is actually being funded by Procter & Gamble and Wal-Mart, according to the Wall Street Journal. The paper says the two companies will control all the ad revenue for the two-hour block, essentially making it a time buy.

Insiders tell TheWrap P&G and Wal-Mart came to NBC with the concept and worked with the network (and producer Muse Entertainment) to produce it. The Hollywood Reporter first noted casting on this project back in October, so it's been around for a while.



FAMILY SECRETS ARE REVEALED AND LEAD TO DANGER -- Family business leads to an adventure of a lifetime for single mom Dana James (Paige Turco, "The Agency") and her three kids when the family faces a series of mysteries and a dark secret that drives them deep into danger in an original two-hour movie. When Dana receives news that someone is interested in buying the mountain cabin she inherited years ago from her beloved Uncle Henry (Barry Bostwick, "Spin City"), she sees a weekend trip to sign the papers as a chance to reconnect with her children. But the family encounters unknown twists as they uncover pieces of a puzzle -- and they learn that someone is determined to stop them from solving the riddle at any cost.

The Walmart Moms had an advanced screening in NYC last month that sadly I had to miss. The primary job of being a Mom comes first and I couldn’t score a sitter to make attending happen. I’ve hear RAVE reviews from my girlfriends who saw the movie. Lori from A Cowboy’s Wife said she was even in tears at one point! I can’t wait to see it – hoping to get a screener but this flick sounds like it is under lock & key until 4/16!



And so they’ve always been great experiences for me because everybody’s heart was in the right place and you weren’t always looking for the snarky moment or the sarcastic aside or, the kids weren’t always the smartest people in it and the most clever and witty. They were more like I thought, more like real life. And they were films that I would sit down happily with my own children.
And hey, I’m all for this kind of entertainment. I’ve always been a real proponent of it. I know that my kids would sit down and watch this even if I wasn’t in it.
Because I think they’re starved for wholesome entertainment. It’s so easy to find the other stuff. And this is very, very rare on television.

In short the Plot is Pilot

Dana James is a single mom with three kids. Dana is informed that someone is interested in buying the mountain cabin she inherited years ago from her uncle. She thinks this would be a good time to get away and spend some time with the kids while signing the papers, but things aren't that simple. They find themselves in danger as they try to figure out the secret but someone is trying to stop them.
