Lunar Eclipse June 2010

The Lunar Eclipse 2010 will start on June 26, 2010, round 5:15 AM ET. A lunar eclipse occurs when the moon passes behind the earth such that the earth blocks the sun's rays from striking the moon. This can occur only when the Sun, Earth and Moon are aligned exactly, or very closely so, with the Earth in the middle.

Hence, there is always a full moon the night of a lunar eclipse. The type and length of an eclipse depend upon the Moon's location relative to its orbital nodes. The next total lunar eclipse will occur on December 21, 2010.

The Lunar Eclipse 2010 start on June 26, 2010, round 5:15 AM ET. You can see the Lunar Eclipse June 2010 when you are located in the Northern America continent. For the best actual view of the Lunar Eclipse, try to get a view from the West Coast and Central part of the United States and Canada, including in the middle of the Pacific Ocean

Because the Moon, Sun and Earth are not completely aligned, the eclipse will not totally obscure the Moon. Observers in India, Japan and parts of East Asia will also experience the phenomenon.
