The Plain Dealer is the largest circulated daily newspaper of Cleveland, Ohio. It is a top 20 newspaper for circulation in the United States as The Plain Dealer had more than 785,000 readers on weekdays and 1 million readers on Sunday. The Plain Dealer second only to New York Times in the
weekday editions, as reported an average daily paid circulation of 336,939 for the six-month period ending in September, 2006. The Plain Dealer's media market, Greater Cleveland, is ranked #1 in the country for Sunday newspaper readership percentage (75.4% of total adults) and #2 in daily newspaper readership percentage (62.6% of total adults),

Plain Dealer says "In June 2010 the Plain Dealer will recognize the leading workplaces in Northeast Ohio. The very best organizations will be evaluated purely on the responses to an employee survey. There is no cost to participate in the program, apart from a processing fee if you require surveys in paper format."
